WHO WE ARE

Local Government Service Commission, Awka was established to oversee the administration and management of personnel serving within the Local Government Councils in Anambra State.

The Commission ensures that all appointments, promotions, confirmations, disciplinary procedures, and retirements are conducted fairly and in accordance with the laws governing the Local Government Service.

Our mission extends beyond workforce management—we strive to strengthen institutional capacity, improve productivity, and ensure efficient service delivery that positively impacts communities throughout the State.

Through continuous reforms, strategic planning, staff training, and ethical leadership, we are building a modern Local Government Service capable of meeting today’s governance challenges.

To provide efficient personnel management, promote merit-based career development, strengthen institutional capacity, and ensure quality service delivery across all Local Government Councils in Anambra State.
